A Call to Pray & Fast is a six-week initiative calling believers to set aside one day a week to pray and fast in community. The suggested time is Sunday dinner to Monday dinner; however, please do whatever works best with your schedule. Whether you participate as an individual, a community group, or a church, this discipline reminds us just how dependent we are on God. May it also unite us in praying with one heart for each other, our communities, and the advancement of God's kingdom.

IF FASTING FROM FOOD IS HARMFUL

If you struggle with an eating disorder, severe calorie restricting, or other health complications, fasting from food may be harmful to you physically or mentally. If this is the case, please work with a pastor or counselor to consider alternatives to fasting from food. The key is to fast from something that is meaningful to you—that gives you life—so that you will feel a strong emptiness prompting you to turn to God for life and sustenance.
